Introduction to the Rocket Man: A young man was born called Reg Dwight in 1947. While he was at school he took piano lessons and even at the young age of five he was showing signs of the ability that would make him a superstar he took lessons on the piano to further his ability but was told by his teacher that he was not going to be able to a success how wrong could they have been.

Elton the early years: Many people believe that the first ever album that Elton John made was the album Elton John but actually it was Empty Sky but his first hit was on the second album the song was called 'Your Song' which is regarded to be the best song he has ever made. Elton had his first club date in a club in New York in a back street club where he showed about 40 people his amazing talents and I was the start of a career that would last to this very day. Elton then brought a series a number one albums these were Tumbleweed Connexion, Madman Across the Water and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road he set a record of 8 number one albums in a row.

Elton John's Highs and lows: As Elton John made more albums he became more and more successful but with success brings pressure and Elton began to have serious drink and drug problems at one stage he even went on stage drunk and on drugs and no one knew it reached a point where he was drinking almost every day. But one very big event changed his life and his lifestyle for ever. He became friends with the family of Ryan White a young boy who had AIDS who died from the disease and Elton performed the song skyline Pigeon after seeing such a young age prompted Elton john to book himself into rehap where part of his rehap was to write a good by letter to drugs and alcohol which he later told people he wrote like they were friends. Bernie Taupin who writes the lyrics for Elton revealed that when he wrote the letter he was in tears at the end because the letter was written which so much feeling. And from that day Elton has not had any problems with drug and also alcohol. One of Elton johns biggest highs involved the movie the Lion King in which he wrote most if not all the music for the Disney film and from that film came the songs 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' and 'Circle Of Life' Another film that Elton was heavily involved with was 'The Road To El Dorado' in which all the songs where written by Elton the lyrics where not wrote by Bernie Taupin they were wrote by Tim Price. In 1998 Elton John got the biggest award any Englishman could get he got a knighthood the reason for his knighthood was for his work for charity changing his name to Sir Elton John.
