Me And Elton

Elton John's music has brought me so much joy and also has helped me through some tough times. The first time that I heard Elton was in the back of my dads car the song was "I'm Still Standing" and I fell in love with his music for a long the music world was alien to me I had a brief interest in The Beatles and also ABBA but it was a short interest and I was never a serious fan and the interest faded quickly. The moment when I first heard "I'm Still Standing" was a moment that I still remember to this very day the music of Elton touched a part of me that no music by any other artist had done and still no other music has.

People often ask me why do I like ELTON JOHN so much and I have never been able to give them a proper answer but the answer that I usually give comes in the form of a lyric from one of his songs " I cant really explain it I haven't got the words". When I listen and sing Elton's music I come alive and I go into Elton's world where I feel at home and if I am having I hard time or I am feeling low all I have to is put Elton's music on all my sadness and my worries go away for a long time I never thought I would be interested in music but thanks to Elton I am.

I mentioned at the start that the music of Elton had helped me through some times which until this day I have not gone into much detail here is one example when the music of Elton helped me.

I had been a Elton fan for a few months I was at secondary school and one day people found out that I was a fan of Elton John and I was subjected to a lot of bullying then one evening when I was considering no longer been a Elton fan I heard "I'm Still Standing" and the feeling that I had when I first heard it cam back and it made me determined not to cave in and proud to say that I'm a Elton John fan.

To this very day the love that I have for Elton and his music is still extremely strong as it was the first day I became a fan Elton has a song called "Your Song" and  when I sing it I sing it as a dedication to Elton John.

I am very grateful that I have found Elton John and I have had many great events and memories with him and I will go into another time.
